What is a logo?

A Logo is a symbol, illustration or typographic representation of your company’s identity. It should be the most identifiable part of your business. Your target audience will judge your business based upon the impression (or lack thereof) that your logo creates.

While professional logos often look simple, they convey a great deal about a company and its products and services.

Since a logo usually creates the "first impression" of your business to the marketplace, choosing the wrong image can have negative consequences, not only in terms of sales, but in long-term brand equity.


What makes a good logo?

Taglines are phrases that accompany a business name. They may be descriptive or emotional. Descriptive taglines explain what your business does. While emotional taglines associate an emotional tone or feeling with your business. For example:

What makes a good tagline?

Taglines should be simple, memorable, interesting, timeless and tested.

Diva Design World’s tagline ("Attractive Design Without the Attitude” is both descriptive and emotional. It conveys what we do (design), what sets us apart (approachable) and what it feels like to work with us (comforting and relaxed).

Taglines should reflect the image that you wish to portray. A cutesy tagline may be spot-on for a childcare center, whereas a large law firm would need a tagline that conveys sophistication and dignity.

What is a "Corporate Style Guide"?

Corporate style guides specify how logo design, colors, size requirements and typography should be used on all marketing materials (on and off line). They also include files that can be used to help your company remain consistent with these guidelines.

If you already have a style guide it is important that you share this information with your DivaDesignWorld consultant. If your company lacks a styleguide it is strongly recommended that you have one professionally developed.


How much do Total Identity Packages cost?

Fees for total identity packages vary according the scope of your project. Variables include the extent of creative needed, number of design options desired, scope of market research involved, number and types of files desired, as well as the magnitude of corporate style guide.


The most basic total identity package starts at $2,500 and includes a logo, business cards, stationery and a simple style guide. A more complex package includes more advanced design, more design options, a more advanced style guide, and other elements as needed. Complex total identity packages start at $5,000 and go up from there.
